2% Of The Nation's Teachers Are Black Men. How Can We Get More Black Male Teachers In The Classroom?

Black men make up only two percent of the country’s teaching force but their presence in the classroom is shown to improve outcomes for students.

Still, only seven percent of teachers nationwide are Black.

Terrence Martin, Sr, Executive Vice President of the Detroit Federation of Teachers spoke with Roland Martin during this week’s Education Matters segment about the need for Black male teachers in Americas classrooms.
