30-year-old Malcolm Kenyatta has announced he will run for the U.S. Senate in 2022 to represent the state of Pennsylvania.
Kenyatta is currently a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He was elected in 2018, and made history as one of the youngest elected State Representatives and the first openly gay Black male.
If the North Philly native assumes Pat Toomy’s senate seat in 2022, he would once again make history as the country’s youngest and first openly gay senator.
