The race in the New York Mayoral election is nearing its end, with candidates making their last appeals to residents in the city. This is a historic race as the top two candidates leading the pack are both Black, as well as the implementation of the ranked-choice ballots.
New York Times reporter Jeff Mays joined BNC’s “Prime with Charles Blow” to discuss how the system works and ways that candidates may manipulate it to hinder the leading candidates.
