Ten New Hampshire Council Members Resign From Position Over Ban on Critical Race Theory

Charles Blow sits down with New Hampshire State Representative Jim Maggiore, who resigned from the governor’s advisory council on diversity and inclusion because of a new state law that bans public schools from teaching critical race theory.

Maggiore is one of ten New Hampshire council members who left their positions after Gov. Chris Sununu signed the bill.

“One of the provisions of the bill especially focuses on the public education system and limits how teachers can speak about racism. In a way, it makes it easier for individuals to sue local schools or teachers if they discuss racism or critical race theory in class,” Blow says.
