The Delta COVID-19 variant is responsible for the surge in reported cases and deaths in the past few weeks.
Medical experts have identified the Delta variant as the most contagious version of the virus and as a result, it has caused some states such as California, to bring back their mask mandates. In the past week, coronavirus deaths went up 26%. According to the CDC, most of the deaths are from the unvaccinated. Misinformation has been one of the key reasons that some of the population in the Black community haven’t been vaccinated.
Dr. Bernard Ashby, Florida state lead for the Committee to Protect Health Care, joined Charles Blow on “Prime” to discuss the COVID-19 vaccine misinformation.
