Major American Cities Losing Black Police Officers to Retirement

Charles Blow talks about how the country is losing Black police officers to retirement, at a time where cops are killing Black people at “horrifying rates.”
According to Census data, “In 99 of the country’s 100 largest metropolitan areas, the share of white police officers exceeds the white population.”
New York City has seen a 14% drop in Black officers since 2008, Philadelphia a 19% drop since 2017 and Washington, D.C. has dropped by 25% since 1998, according to The Atlantic.
Activist DeRay Mckesson and retired LAPD Sergeant Cheryl Dorsey join β€œPrime” to talk about the drop in working Black cops.

All this and more on β€œPrime.”
