Brandon Jackson Serving Life Sentence for Crime He Didn’t Commit

The Louisiana judicial system has disenfranchised the Black community for more than a hundred years.

Brandon Jackson has spent more than 25 years behind bars because he was accused of robbing a local Applebee’s restaurant, a crime he swears he didn’t commit.

The jury convicted him on a 10-2 vote. The 10 who found him guilty were white and the two who voted to acquit Jackson were Black.

Claude-Michael Comeau, Jackson’s attorney, joins Laverne McGee on “Making the Case.”
