Kwanzaa is an annual holiday celebration that brings African Americans together to celebrate family, community and our rich culture.
The week-long celebration includes a focus on seven specific principles, including unity, purpose, creativity and faith, as it highlights the best of what it means to be Black.
There is food, dancing, gifts and candlelighting as African Americans pay homage to their ancestors and acknowledge how far we have come.
We’re a couple days into the holiday now, but it is not too late for people and their families to celebrate Kwanzaa this year.
