Jury Selected in Federal Trial of 3 Officers in George Floyd’s Murder

In Minneapolis, the federal trial for the three former officers charged in George Floyd’s killing is set to get underway.

Former officers Tou Thao, J. Alexander Keung and Thomas Lane are facing federal charges as they are accused of depriving Floyd of his constitutional rights for failing to act as Derek Chauvin kneeled on his neck for more than nine minutes.

The jury was selected in less than a day and most of the 18-member panel are white, with the exception of two Asian jurors, 10 women and eight men.

Criminal defense attorneys Phillip Hamilton and Brian Watkins join Yodit Tewolde on “Making the Case” to discuss.
