Ahmaud Arbery Killers Plead Not Guilty to Federal Crimes

The three white men convicted of murdering Ahmaud Arbery will go on trial again next week as they’re charged with federal hate crimes.

Two of the suspects, Gregory and Travis McMichael, made a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty in exchange for being allowed to serve their time in a federal prison where it’s widely believed the incarceration conditions are much better than in state prison.

But the judge rejected the plea and the trial will move forward.
