Black Restaurant Week Supports Culinary Businesses amid $280 Billion Loss in Sales

The survival and future of Black-owned culinary businesses are in jeopardy, with the U.S. Census reporting the pandemic has cost restaurants and bars over $280 billion in sales.

Black Restaurant Weeks has since launched a campaign to revitalize those businesses throughout the year. It’s kicking off a 15-city tour and online marketplace to celebrate the flavors of African, African-American and Caribbean cuisines. Organization funder Warren Luckett joins β€œStart Your Day” to discuss the initiative.
