WATCH: Civil Rights Asst. Atty. General Kristen Clarke, Other Witnesses Testify On The Rise Of Hate Crimes

Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Kristen Clarke joined other witnesses to testify on the rise in hate crimes across the nation before the Senate Judiciary Committee. She said the Justice Department is committed to prosecuting these crimes. She added the department is aiding law enforcement and communities in order to reduce these incidents. Charlie Cytron-Walker, a Texas rabbi who was held hostage for more than seven hours by a man demanding the freedom of a suspected terrorist, was among the witnesses. Also testifying was Walter Kimbrough, president of Dillard University, a historically black university. HBCUs have been seeing an increase in bomb threats.
