Ex-NFL Player Gets Rolled Out Of Hospital In Bed By Cops, Says He Was Kicked Out | Roland Martin

Imagine being in the hospital for days, you can’t walk on your own, and it seems like you’re not getting the care you think you should be getting.
You ask questions and ask to speak to those in charge to get answers. Instead of getting those answers, you are awakened at 4a by a security guard who informs you that you are being kicked out of the hospital. Your family isn’t there to help you, so the hospital calls the police, and nearly a dozen officers show up to roll you out in a hospital in a bed!

That’s exactly what former NFL player Louis Leonard says happened to him last Friday at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Louis and his wife, Lacey, join us from Phoenix.

My producer reached out to several Banner Healthcare leadership team members to get a response.

We sent messages to two members of the Banner Health board of directors, Quentin P. Smith, Jr., the Chairman and Vice-Chair, and Anne Mariucci, for a statement about this incident.

We also reached out to members of Banner Health’s Executive Board: Amy Perry, President & Chief Operating Officer; David Bixby, Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel and Deanna Wise, Chief Information Officer at Banner Health. None of them have responded, but we know they got our messages.
