During Wednesday’s edition of #RolandMartinUnfiltered, Roland and his panel of guests conducted an election night autopsy after exit polling data revealed major splits within demographics that many thought would rebuke Donald Trump at the ballot box.
Legal Analyst and Crisis Manager Monique Pressley explained that “misinformation, yellow journalism, propaganda, out and out lies targeted and preyed upon ignorance and need”.
She added these tactics convinced a group of people “that there was no democratic candidate that would be able to meet their needs or be sufficient.”
A. Scott Bolden reminded viewers that nearly one out of two voting Americans voted for Trump “against the backdrop of coronavirus, a failed economy and health care.”
There are a number of serious conversations that America has to have with itself to address the “underbelly” issues that gave Trump the ability to remain competitive in the 2020 presidential election.
