Catrina Thompson, Winston-Salem police chief, appeared on Start Your Day on Friday to speak about the duty and burden of being a Black officer in blue.
“There is no acceptable answer that I can provide for you,” Thompson replied when asked about the bad cops who “terrorize” communities. She said that good officers exist, and those officers who are silent and complicit in the negative or criminal actions of other cops are also bad cops.
The police chief spoke about how the verdict in the George Floyd trial will have on law enforcement.
