31-year-old Paul Murray was arrested Wednesday afternoon by D.C. Metropolitan police, after the Secret Service spotted him looking suspicious outside the U.S. Naval Observatory.
The Observatory is of course the official residence of Vice President Kamala Harris. While Murray’s intentions are still unclear, police say they found an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and 113 rounds of ammunition in his vehicle. Police have charged the Texas native with several counts, including carrying a rifle or shotgun outside of a business. The vice president and her husband, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, have not been living at The Observatory while it is being renovated.
