Rapper Lil Nas X is facing backlash after the release of a new music video and sneaker collaboration. In the video for his song “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” the rapper can be seen giving a lap dance to a CGI depiction of Satan. He is also collaborating with streetwear brand MSCHF to release modified Nike Air Max 97s called “Satan Shoes” The rapper and Nike faced criticism for the shoe release that comes one day after Palm Sunday, an important holiday for Christians. Nike said they do not endorse the sneaker, which is a modified version of its shoes. Start Your Day hosts Sharon Reed and Mike Hill discuss the controversial music video. Both hosts agree that the rapper does not need to change his content to cater to children and that it is the parents’ job to do that.
