They Almost Killed Him: No Convictions In Case Of Undercover Officer Beaten During 2017 Protest


The jury in the case of three officers accused of beating a colleague working undercover as a protester in 2017 returned a partial verdict yesterday ruling two mistrials and declaring one of the officers not guilty of all charges.

The jury deliberated for two days before finding St. Louis Police officer Steven Korte not guilty on all counts. Former officer Chris Myers was found not guilty on a civil rights charge and the jury did not reach a verdict on a charge of destruction of evidence. The jury also did not reach a verdict on the civil rights charge against former officer Dustin Boone.
