Charles Blow on the Black Gaze

Charles Blow closes out his inaugural show breaking down the importance of having a show that centers on Black people and Blackness.

Citing iconic author Toni Morrison on rejecting β€œthe white gaze” in her literature, Blow speaks on the importance of having a Black gaze.

β€œWhat news would you report and convey if you were not having to consider it in the context of or the opposition to the dominant white culture,” Blows tells the audience. β€œBlack achievement would be presented along with Black struggle. Black joy would be on par with Black pain.”
