Charles Blow sits down with Atlanta City Councilman Antonio Brown, a potential candidate for mayor’s office, on whether he’s going to run and about policing in Atlanta.
Brown introduced legislation that established a Department of Public Safety and Wellness.
“What you see happening in our city is a side effect of generational poverty that has gone unaddressed for decades,” Brown tells Blow. “It’s not about putting more officers on the street. That’s a reactionary solution. It’s addressing the root cause of the problem.”
