For the month of May, BNC is showcasing servicemen and servicewomen and all they do to protect and serve this country. BNC host Brittany Jones introduces veteran Field Artillery Officer Captain Tim Berry. He credits his dad for pushing him to serve the country and he accomplished the mission. Berry was commissioned as a field artillery officer from the United States Military Academy at Westpoint in 2013. He returned to the academy, where he helped mentor Black and Brown cadets. Berry is part of the Black Veterans Project, an organization that focuses on veteran advocacy, public education, military justice and shares the stories of Black faces in the military. Now, he’s working to eliminate the financial barrier for Black and Brown students who have to take qualifying tests.
