There is a growing concern in the medical industry that exams and tests that were postponed during the pandemic may negatively impact the health of many people in the future. Grammy-award-winning star Sheryl Crow and Dr. Dacarla Albright, an expert in obstetrics and gynecology, joined “Start Your Day” with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill to discuss the importance of getting mammograms and checking for breast cancer. Crow was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 and she almost skipped her mammogram. She said she’s “extremely happy” that she went to the appointment because it changed her life. Dr. Albright advised women not to be afraid to go into a hospital or doctor’s office to get their annual mammograms. Citing her experience with cancer, Crow said it is essential to catch it early. When asked about self-examinations, Albright said it is important for women to be aware of their bodies and alert a doctor to concerns they may have.
