In the wake of George Floyd’s death, corporate America pledged millions of dollars to fight racism and many companies announced changes to their hiring practices. John Hope Bryant, founder and CEO of Operation Hope, joins “Start Your Day” with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill to give perspective on the response from corporate companies. Bryant says the private sector of Corporate America has contributed $35 billion to racial justice efforts after Floyd’s death. Citing the history of slavery in the country, Bryant says the $35 billion figure is not enough, but it’s a good start.
