Y’all know what time it is … ROLL IT!
At a Memorial Day event in Ohio, organizers were determined to suppress the history of Black people’s role in the origins of the holiday.
Retired Army Lt. Col. Barnard Kemter delivered remarks at an event commemorating the holiday.
Minutes into his speech when he addressed the role of Black people – someone turned his microphone off!
The event organizer, Cindy Suchan, says they cut his audio because that portion of Kemter’s speech “was not relevant to our program for the day” and the “theme of the day was honoring Hudson, Ohio veterans.”
Suchan also asked Kemter to take out certain parts of his speech before the event.
Kemter was initially under the impression that it was an audio malfunction.
An audio engineer later told him for the event that it was an order.
When the audio engineer refused to do so, another event organizer stepped in and cut the audio himself.
