Biden’s Push to Get African -American Communities Vaccinated Not Gaining Traction


Charles Blow chats with Dr. Cameron Webb, senior advisor to the COVID-19 White House Equity Task Force, about the Biden administration’s efforts to get the Black community vaccinated but is falling short.

“According to the CDC, less than a quarter of Black Americans had received their first COVID-19 shot as of June 3rd,” Blow says.

Webb says that Black people face challenges such as getting paid time off from work, access to childcare, and lack of transportation services, making it harder for African -Americans to get the vaccine.
