Yodit Tewolde sits down with BNC legal correspondent Paul Henderson about a situation in Florida involving runaway children using an AK-47 on Florida sheriff deputies.
The cops were able to get the boy with the AK-47 to surrender without injury, which had many people wonder why that type of restraint canβt be used toward children of color, who end up victims of police violence.
βWe have to acknowledge the race disparities that are built into policing encounters,β Henderson says. βWe already know that looking at objective facts and statistics. African Americans are three times more likely to have this lethal force engaged on them when they encounter police departments.β
All this and more on βMaking the Case.β
