NYC Mayoral Candidate Eric Adams Faces Controversy Over Residency

New York City mayoral candidate and Brooklyn Burrough President Eric Adams, who stands accused of actually living in New Jersey, invited the media to his Brooklyn apartment as an attempt to prove he lives in New York City. Once images from the media tour began to circulate, his opponents and social media have cast doubt that the apartment is his actual residence. Adamsโ€™ residency controversy has him entangled in a war of words with Andrew Yang, who is also running for mayor. Adams suggested that Yang’s assumption that he cannot own two homes is racially motivated. He has gone as far as comparing Yang’s accusations about his residency to Donald Trump’s birth accusations against former President Barack Obama. WNYC politics reporter Brigid Bergen joins “Prime With Charles Blow” to discuss the controversy.ย ย
