As schools across the country debate closing classrooms again because of the latest surge in COVID-19 infections, educators are sounding the alarm about what the long term impact could be for the students.

Geoffrey Canada is the President of the Harlem Children’s Zone is one of those educators sounding the alarm.

As a result of his critically acclaimed work in the American education system, Canada being highly recommended for the position of Secretary of Education in the Biden Administration.

Canada believes the coronavirus outbreak has exposed vast inequalities in the American education system calling the fallout from the ongoing pandemic “a real disaster.”
