Ann Meyers Drysdale joined Start Your Day to discuss inequities in women's sports

A living legend joined Start Your Day with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill to talk about the state of women’s sports. Ann Meyers Drysdale is the first and only woman to sign an NBA contract, the first woman to get a full athletic scholarship to the University of California Los Angeles, the first four-time all-American and olympian, a Hall of Famer and the first female color analyst for the National Basketball Association. She is also the current Vice President of the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury. Citing the experiences female players in the NCAA faces compared to the men, Drysdale said there is strength in numbers and social media helps amplify issues. “There’s such a great voice and a strength in numbers in what is being said,” Drysdale said. She said sports taught her to have an attitude focused on the future and move forward. “Don’t look back in life and say ‘I wish I had.'”
