MY TAKE:

FIRST QUESTION – THANK YOU FOR THIS QUESTION. It is real. I’m not saying every man who makes less than his woman should be a stay at home dad. If it makes sense for him to stay home, he can still have a homebased business – my husband kept his home inspection business running and he took appointments on weekends and when I got home from work. With that said, honestly, it’s no one’s business! The end.

SECOND QUESTION
You can’t fix or save anyone. No one can fix or save you. Everyone needs to understand and respect that then do what we can to work together in truth and love to create healthy relationships. Communicate and set boundaries and consequences. Be willing to issue consequences, dust your self off, and learn the lesson so you can get the blessing.

After being heartbroken to the core at a young age, I pivoted my thoughts and beliefs about what an acceptable man would look like in my life. I focused on the attributes that determine character and not the attributes that measure accomplishments. I believed that if he had the right character, then we could accomplish anything together. I was right, thank you Lord!

Money wasn’t on my list in determining who would be an acceptable mate. This is what I wanted instead:

1. Someone who loves God – let me be clear, not someone who went to church – but someone who truly loved God and tried to live out that love through his life choices and actions.

❤️

2. He needed to be honest and trustworthy – could I give him my heart? Would he tell the truth? Was he dependable in doing what he said he would do? That was important.

❤️

3. Hardworking – I didn’t care how much money he made, I just wanted someone who would work as hard and as long as he needed to in order to provide for his family as much as he could.

❤️

4. Responsible – just because you work hard, doesn’t mean you are responsible. So I wanted someone who would take care of his responsibilities even when it was difficult and even when life through curveballs. He worked hard AND made baby formula & rocked our daughters to sleep whenever needed without complaint. That was a lifesaver for me.

❤️

5. Love his mom & women in general – I didn’t want to battle with a man who hated women or had a general dislike or disrespect for women.

Let’s re-write the script for welcoming love into our lives my sisters!
