Calls for transparency are echoing in Elizabeth City, North Carolina after the deadly police shooting of Andrew Brown Jr. His family and attorneys say they were only allowed to see 20 seconds of body-camera footage from the shooting. Lawyers say Brown’s hands were on the steering wheel when he was shot and killed in his car. Bakari Sellers, one of the attorneys representing the Brown family, joined “Start Your Day” with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill to discuss the fight for justice. Sellers said the portion they were shown was called “pertinent information” and that police were shooting before the video started. Citing the shooting of Ma’Khia Bryant and how quickly the video was released, Sellers said police would have released the video quickly if Brown did something wrong.
