August Job Report Labeled a 'Big Miss' by Economists

This holiday weekend marks the end of extended federal unemployment benefits for more than seven million Americans.

This comes on the heels of Friday’s August jobs report that revealed only 235,000 new jobs were created. It was described as a “big miss” by experts who expected the addition of 720,000 jobs. Now, many people are concerned about what happens next. Dr. Linwood Tauheed, an associate professor of economics at the University of Missouri Kansas City, joins “Start Your Day” with guest hosts Shannon LaNier and Najahe Sherman. He breaks down the report and offers insight to those still looking for work.

All this and more on “Start Your Day.”
