Author Ronda Racha Penrice Discusses Book on HBO’s ‘The Wire’


Released in the early 2000s, HBO’s “The Wire” was a groundbreaking show that looked at the narcotics war in Baltimore.

The show was extremely successful for its gritty and compelling portrayal of the police force and its relationship with the Black community.

“Cracking The Wire During Black Lives Matter” is a collection of essays with articles that reflect how race, class, gender and power were portrayed in the iconic HBO’s TV show.
