Ben Crump Files Lawsuit Against Johnson & Johnson

There is big news from renowned civil rights attorney Ben Crump. He has filed a lawsuit on behalf of a group of Black women against Johnson & Johnson.

The lawsuit takes issue with the company’s talcum-based powder. BNC justice correspondent Candace Kelley joins “Start Your Day” with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill to discuss the news. Kelley says Crump filed a negligence lawsuit on behalf of the National Council of Negro Women, saying the company targeted sales of this product to Black women knowing it could cause ovarian cancer. Last year, the company announced it would stop selling the product. The suit also alleges Johnson & Johnson spent half of its advertising budget to get Black women to purchase the product.
