President Joe Biden has extended the payment pause on federal student loans through May.
Almost 43 million Americans were set to resume loan payments in February. The extension comes as the omicron variant and COVID-19 cases rise across the country.
Some people have not made a student loan payment in two years and say they are not financially prepared to resume a $300 or $400 payment.
