Biden Tempers Expectations On Reparations, Looks To Infrastructure; No Senate Leadership To Pass It

The Biden Administration has yet to endorse H.R. 40, the reparations bill, but during his candidacy, he supported a commission on reparations.

H.R. 40 was brought up during a meeting with members of the Congressional Black Caucus after Biden’s speech in Tulsa.

Biden told the group “his plate was full with trying to get the infrastructure bill passed and that he really wanted to make sure that he could get that through before he took on anything else.”

The bill is not scheduled for a full floor vote in the house.

Many believe this is another missed opportunity for Biden to close the racial wealth gap in the nation.
