Biden’s first 30 days in office and its impacts on Black America

Danielle Moodie, a democratic strategist and host of WokeAF and Democracy-ish podcasts, joined the Black News Channel to talk about President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ first 30 days in the White House. President Biden was inaugurated in the midst of an economic crisis and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which has taken the lives of more than 500,000 Americans. Now, as the world sees more than 28 million cases, a COVID-19 relief bill is waiting for Congressional approval. Black communities across the United States continue to be disproportionately impacted by the virus as they experience a higher infection rate, an increase in joblessness, and a drop in life expectancy. The Biden-Harris administration continues to face opposition from Republicans. At the same time, Democrats remain divided on a minimum wage increase, funding for state and local governments, and the possibility of extending emergency unemployment benefits.
