As President Biden announced all American adults will be able to get a vaccine by May, some states have lifted COVID-19 restrictions despite warnings from the nation’s top health officials. Texas Governor Gregg Abbott lifted the state’s mask mandate and issued an executive order that would allow businesses to reopen at 100% capacity. BNC’s medical expert Dr. Jen Caudle joined Start Your Day with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill to talk about the concerns of lifting mandates prematurely, COVID-19 variants and the latest coronavirus data. Caudle says American lives are being put at risk because of the loosening of restrictions. She says we should “follow the science” to avoid going back to where we were and to keep frontline workers safe.
