Sept. 11, 2001 triggered the longest war in American history and increased surveillance on the country’s citizens tenfold.
Also, it led to the militarization of U.S. police departments across the country.
Tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. EST, BNC will have special programming to commemorate 20 years since 9/11. Del Waters and Nayyera Haq will host the coverage, which looks at how America has changed in the 20 years since that horrible day.
Haq joins Charles Blow on “Prime” to discuss her Muslim heritage. She reveals that her father almost died at the World Trade Center on 9/11, as he didn’t go for his regular lunch appointment at the Windows on the World restaurant on the 107th floor of the north tower.
