Breonna Taylor, a Kentucky woman working as an EMT was killed after officers forced their way inside her home unannounced and exchanged shots with her boyfriend who is a licensed gun owner.
The officers were executing a search warrant in a narcotics investigation, but they entered into the wrong apartment.
Taylor’s mother, in a wrongful death lawsuit filed last month against the three police officers involved, says the officers should have called off their search of Taylor’s apartment because the suspect police were looking for was already in custody at a different location.
