Cajun Navy Prepares to Bring Relief to Hurricane Ida Survivors

Hurricane Ida made landfall on Sunday. Although it has been downgraded to a category three storm, it’s still sustaining wind speeds of more than 110 miles per hour.

Instead of gearing up to evacuate, Cajun Navy Relief, a group of Louisiana residents dedicated to helping their neighbors, is preparing to bring rapid relief to survivors of the storm.

“The term [Cajun Navy] was actually coined during Hurricane Katrina,” says president Colleen Udell. “There was a call that went out for anybody, a south Louisiana boat owner to come help rescue the individuals of New Orleans.”

She joins Kelly Wright on “BNC Live” to discuss the relief efforts as concerns of flooding remain.
