The first day of the insurrection hearings took place today in Washington, D.C.
It was a very emotional day in the Capitol, as two Capitol Police officers and two officers from the D.C. Metro Police force gave a powerful testimony. They went into detail about the danger they faced while defending the Capitol when a mob of former President Donald Trump supporters forced their way inside the building. The officers were brutally beaten and verbally abused while protecting lawmakers, who were inside the building to certify President Biden’s win.
