As Memorial Day marks the remembrance of the fallen military men and women, a special leader is also being remembered. Four-star General Lloyd Austin is the first African American to direct the Department of Defense. Del Walters, host of “D.C. Today,” has more on Austin’s path to the pentagon. Austin’s career in the Army spanned multiple decades and included the command at the corps, division, battalion, and brigade levels.
