With careers in both Healthcare and IT at an all-time high, the leading professional organization for Historically Black College and University Students and Graduates, HBCUCONNECT.COM, launched a special two-part recruitment event series to connect diverse professionals with one of the fastest growing Healthcare IT companies in the world, Cerner.
The first event in the two-part series was hosted in Washington, D.C. area and offered participants the opportunity to network with Cerner associates that flew in to share their experiences and key information related to career opportunities with the growing Healthcare IT company.
The second event allowed a select group of interested and qualified candidates from the first Cerner HBCU CONNECT event to fly out to Kansas City, Missouri to enjoy an evening of networking and famous Kansas City BBQ, and a second day full of interviews, orientation and tours of one of Cernerβs new technology buildings on their new campus.
Cerner rolled out the red carpet for attendees hosted for the interview day. Shawn Starks, a Managing Director over Events for HBCU CONNECT was impressed with his first visit to Cernerβs Kansas City Headquarters as well. βI was impressed with how they covered everything from A to Z for the candidates interviewing. Also the representation and participation from other diverse Cerner employees during both events clearly gave candidates confidence, a level of trust and a desire to interview for a potential role with Cerner.β
Cerner, one of the worldβs leading Healthcare IT companies, is looking to hire more diverse professionals for high paying career opportunities. Partnering with HBCUConnect.com allowed Cerner to tap into a huge audience of diverse professionals, many of which attend or graduated from a Historically Black College or University.
