At 21 years old, Chris Suggs is believed to be the youngest person ever elected to public office in his home state of North Carolina.
But he has been involved in public service for years, as he founded a nonprofit aimed at encouraging civic engagement for young people and worked with state leaders to tackle issues like over policing and mass incarceration.
One of the positions Suggs held before city council was on the North Carolina Governorβs Crime Commission.
The Kinston, North Carolina councilman joins guest host Laverne McGee on βMaking the Caseβ to discuss what it is like to take on this position in his hometown.
All this and more on βMaking the Case.β
