Cleveland Indians Changing Name to Guardians, NFL Pushing for Vaccinations, Safety of Olympics

After years of controversy and a national reckoning, Major League Baseball’s Cleveland team will no longer be called the Indians.

Instead, they will be called the Cleveland Guardians after the 2021 season concludes. Ironically, it happened on the on the one-year anniversary of Dan Snyder’s decision to temporarily rename his team, the “Washington Football Team.”

Also, the COVID-19 pandemic is causing some issues in the National Football League. The NFL is pushing for coaches, players and staff to get vaccinated, or they’ll face some repercussions, such as forfeiting games and loss of paychecks.

With the Olympics starting in Tokyo, around 1 in 6 American athletes have not been vaccinated.

Terence Moore, national sports columnist for Forbes.com, joins Charles Blow to talk about these topics.
