The pandemic has had a significant impact on us all, but especially nurses. The toll on them is creating a global shortage causing critical issues in our healthcare system.
In September, The NurseGrid published a survey of 10,0000 nurses to gain a perspective on their well-being and how the pandemic impacted them and their colleagues.
Here are some of the results.
About 92 percent say they have experienced a shortage of nurses. 56 percent say they experienced a lack of beds 77 percent of nurses acknowledged high levels of burnout and mental health issues. 4 out of 10 say they were doing their best with a shortage of medical supplies. And 1 in 5 nurses said they were working in facilities where patients were housed in temporary areas of a hospital, like tents and field hospitals.
