Family, friends, and activists gathered today in Akron, Ohio, to say their final farewell to Jayland Waker, the black male shot over 60 times by eight police officers during a traffic stop.
Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan called today, a citywide day of mourning, to show sympathy after days of protests over his death.
Hundreds of people filled Akron City Theater to pay their respects to Walker and his family.
Relatives, family, friends, and community members spoke at his funeral. Bobby DiCello, the attorney representing the family, called on government officials to make a change so that these wrongful deaths do not continue.
