Day three of jury selection in the Derek Chauvin trial continues

Jury selection in the trial of Derek Chauvin began on Monday. The former Minneapolis police officer faces second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter charges for the death of George Floyd. On day three of the jury selection process, four jurors have been selected and ten more are needed before the trial begins on March 29.

BNC Chief Legal Correspondent Dr. Laura McNeal joined Venise Touissant on BNC live from Minneapolis to discuss the four jurors’ racial makeup and potential issues that could arise. She says one of the jurors, a chemist, will play a role in determining if the alleged drugs in Floyd’s body were a factor in his untimely death. The only female juror selected so far said she is excited to serve as a juror and perform her civic duty.
