“Well, Senator, how good is your word when you made a promise to the American people β even more, you made a promise to the folks of South Carolina that you wouldn’t be doing what you are doing right now.” – Jamie Harrison
On Saturday, from behind the added safety of a transparent shield, Harrison took Sen. Lindsey Graham to task for not being a man of his word.
Harrison reminded Graham that he had voted to block the nomination of Merrick Garland, who was nominated to the Supreme Court by former President Barack Obama in 2016.
At the time, Graham insisted he was doing it because βno judicial nominee should be considered, or approved…in the last year of an election,β continued Harrison. βSenator, you said, βUse my words against me.ββ
Harrison also blistered Graham on the COVID-19 response as the United States hit 200,000 deaths and nearly 7.5 million infections.
